Subject Talk Theme: This talk is delivered by a registered social worker who will teach parents how to identify the key sources of parenting stress (including academic performance, use of electronic devices and parent-child communication) and explain how such stress would lead to anxiety, self-blame and conflicts. The speaker will also introduce self-compassion as a cornerstone for stress relief and emotional healing. Through mindful awareness, self-kindness and recognition of our common humanity, alongside effective use of personal time and support networks, parents can stabilise their own emotions before engaging their children with greater calm, transparency and clear boundaries, with a view to fostering a healthy parent-child relationship. |

Subject Talk Theme: Delivered by a registered social worker, this talk focuses on the Circle of Security, a parenting approach developed and tested for years by three experienced American clinical psychologists Glen Cooper, Kent Hoffman and Bert Powell. Based on the attachment theory in child psychology, the approach has been proven to be practical and effective in helping parents raise their sensitivity to the emotional needs of children and enhance their own self-awareness while supporting children’s exploration in a secure environment, thereby facilitating a stronger parent-child bond. |
